Getting to Know Your 2004 Grand Prix Head-Up Display (HUD) Center Console Controls Intensity When the circle in the outer ring is at the upper arrow, the HUD will be turned off. Rotate the ring to the right to turn the HUD on and increase the intensity of the display to full brightness. The HUD system will automatically brighten or dim as the ambient light increases or decreases. Position Press the UP/DOWN switches to move the display within a limited range to the desired viewing position. Automatic Dimming Feature Compass Calibration Press and hold the COMP button down for six seconds to activate the compass calibration mode. If your vehicle has the optional mirror with the compass, temperature display and OnStar system, press the on/off button for nine seconds. CAL will be displayed in the compass/temperature window on the mirror. The automatic dimming feature is turned on or off by briefly pressing the COMP button located on the bottom of the mirror face. A light on the mirror will be lit when the feature is turned on. It will go out when the feature is turned off. Temperature Display The TEMP button located on the bottom of the mirror face changes the temperature display. You can select _F, _C, or turn the display off.
